The structure of the diesel electric motor KAMAZ-740, produced in Naberezhnye Chelny, has many advantages over its counterparts. So, the electromotor KAMAZ-740 is equipped with small-sized parameters and smaller weight in comparison with YAMZ-238. In addition, it operates at a higher speed of the crankshaft.
The cylinders of the electric motor are arranged in 2 rows at an angle of 90 degrees, which made it possible to reduce the parameters of the electric motor. In the front part there is a hydraulic clutch of the fan, and at the rear there is a radial oil purification filter and an oil filler hole with a dipstick to control the fuel level in the pan.
On the left side in the lower region of the KAMAZ-740 electric motor there is an electric starter.
On the outside of the lateral surfaces of the cylinder tops, exhaust piping is installed with water discharge pipes. At the top of the pipes are attached 2 filters for fine cleaning of fuel, and in front of the moisture drain pipes – thermostats for the cooling system of the electric motor.
The electromotor KAMAZ-740 includes a crank-crank device and a gas distribution system, as well as cooling, lubrication, heating, fuel supply, air and gas removal systems.
In the exhaust pipes KAMAZ-740 are installed moving flaps, which can block the airflow from the cylinders when the fuel supply is cut off automatically.
Maintenance of the KAMAZ-740 electric motor became much easier due to the closed cooling system.
